Summer Break

Well, I finished up the summer session w/ a 4.0 GPA - of course, I only took 2 classes so that is not as impressive as it sounds...
I took Christian and Chelsea with me to Grandma's for a long weekend. Chelsea had such a great time - it has been a while since she has come with me so I'm glad she came and got to see her daddy. They went to the zoo one day and he took her for pizza another. Then, on our last day there he surprised her with a trip to Wal-Mart to do some school clothes shopping. We came home Tuesday morning and as usual, Christian didn't want to go home...he loves hanging out w/ his Papa so much!
Wednesday the 13th was his birthday so he and I hung out all day together. I took him to the mall to ride the carousel, and of course, we had a Cinnabon cinnamon roll! We came home, he napped and I baked his cake. After work, Brittney and Carlos came by and we put our hand prints on a t-shirt I'm making for him.
I have to say - I'm completely appalled at the news reports of people forgetting their children in the car and the kids dying because of it. I mean, seriously - how do you forget a child in the back seat? Is it because you are talking on your cell phone and not paying attention? People...seriously...you take that same baby to the sitter/day care every day! It becomes routine...how can you forget putting your child in the car seat before you got in the car??? I think it is really sad that every summer, we hear about this same tragic incident. I know that God is taking care of those precious little ones whose lives were cut short, but it is sad to think that those babies could have become someone who made a difference in our world. Just think...that little boy was smart enough to put a key in the ignition to try to get out of that truck. At 3 years old, if he was smart enough to know to put a key in the ignition, he could have been smart enough to mix a drug that could cure cancer!
Well, that is my 2 cents on the matter...

One more week until classes start up again. Christian's birthday party is tomorrow, church on Sunday, lunch w/ Christina on Monday, and dinner with Michelle on Tuesday. Life is good so I'm going to count my blessings and say a prayer for the healing of those parents who lost a child due to their own mistake.
God bless you all!
